Holly Lodge Nursery

Our Nursery

Holly Lodge is a ‘home from home’, situated less than ten-minutes’ walk from Hampstead Heath.  Open 8am-6pm during term times, we’re popular with families from Highgate, Dartmouth Park, Gospel Oak and the Holly Lodge Estate itself – as well as a few who drive across town to get to us.

We take babies from under six months in our Daisy Room, children from two years old in our Sunflower Room and have a capacity of around 40 children. We’re passionate about creating a caring, nurturing environment where learning is child-led wherever possible and parents feel welcomed and involved.

Because we are part of the QCCA family, we are also able to offer parents additional spaces at our sister Caversham Nursery during holidays.

Activities

Daisy Room

For babies as young as 3-4 months up to 24 months old, this nurturing space leads to its own garden. Children have naps after lunch but staff accommodate existing routines and support parents who want to get their babies into better sleeping habits. Bedding is child’s own and gets washed daily

Sunflower Room

For children between two-five years old, this bright, lively room has direct access to its own garden. Messy play is encouraged inside and out. There are structured lunchtime naps. Bedding is child’s own and gets washed daily

Meals

Our healthy, delicious meals are home cooked by Eden, our qualified chef who’s been with us six years. We cater to all dietary requirements and every staff member is trained in food hygiene and cross-contamination

Enrichment

We’re passionate about children learning through new experiences.  That’s why we do cooking on Wednesdays, yoga on Fridays and gardening in our greenhouse throughout the week (parents warmly welcome). We’re also planning a weekly forest school from September 2025

Flexibility

Work’s no longer 9-to-5 – so we offer parents a more flexible approach to childcare. Outside our term-time hours, you can request space at our sister Caversham Nursery in Kentish Town, from a couple of days to the whole holiday. A member of Holly Lodge staff works across both nurseries, providing a familiar face for your child and reassurance for you

Ofsted

Our Nursery

“Both my kids attended Holly Lodge and the youngest is still there. It's a warm, welcoming environment with such friendly staff - my daughter absolutely loves it. It's very well managed by the manager who communicates efficiently and organises lots of fun activities and learning for the kids. Excellent nursery.”

CSMother of Child

“I absolutely love Holly Lodge, there's a great energy there, it's a really special nursery! My son has been there for the last 18 months. Every single staff member is lovely, so friendly, caring, and kind! I know my son is being looked after well, and that he feels loved there! HL have always done what they can to help if I contact them with a question or request! I couldn't be happier with the nursery :)”

Melanie EMother of Child

“Holly Lodge Nursery has been fantastic at helping settle our little girl into nursery. She initially cried at most drop-offs, but the staff and the manager were incredibly patient and kind with her. Eventually she settled, and now thoroughly enjoys her days at the nursery, and bounces out to meet me with a smile on her face. A big thanks to everyone. Holly Lodge Nursery is a very welcoming and calm environment, and regularly hosts events where you can meet other parents and their kids.”
